EVALUATION OF BROADBANDING TECHNIQUES IN HIGH POWER KLYSTRON TUBES.

Abstract

This report presents the test procedures and results used in the Evaluation of Broadbanding Techniques in High Power Klystron Tubes. For this investigation the 6 cavity X-841D klystron tube was used. This tube was rated at 2.5 MW peak power, 150 KW average power using a 2000 microsecond pulse at 400-450 Mc/s. The results of this investigation indicated that it was possible to produce the rated power simultaneously with a bandwidth in excess of 5% at 425 Mc/s. (Author)
