BASE NON-TACTICAL COMMUNICATIONS INTERFERENCE STUDY.

Abstract

Simplified equations for computing required separation distances to prevent cosite and intersite interference situations among airbase and non-tactical communications systems are developed and presented in this report. An analysis of intermodulation, adjacent channel and co-channel interference and current deployments and frequency assignments indicate that interference is not only possible but very probable. It is concluded that the use of reduced transmitter powers and channel sharing techniques is necessary to alleviate the interference situation. A tabular method for computing third-order intermodulation products within the base non-tactical frequency family is also presented. (Author)
