A SIGNAL DETECTION TECHNIQUE FOR INFRARED SYSTEMS,

Abstract

This memorandum is a preliminary analysis of a phase-lock loop correlator to improve the detection performance of IR sensors. The correlator is designed specifically to detect the sinusoid burst generated by a picket fence spatial filter. The effects of accompanying background clutter are effectively eliminated by this technique. The analysis includes analog computer simulation to test the theory. (Author)
