ADAPTIVE PHASED ARRAY RADAR.

Abstract

This report describes the results of a 12-month study program to investigate the design of an adaptive phased-arry radar (APAR) using digital techniques. The studies have been aimed at defining the problems which must be solved in developing APAR, and have produced a number of fundamental results. In particular, a straightforward mathematical model has been formulated to describe the conceptual framework of an adaptive phased-array radar in unambiguous fashion. It is concluded that a digital approach to APAR is economical and effective. It is recommended that the study be continued and that the continuation should include a coordinated demonstration and simulation. (Author)
