APPLICABILITY OF OLFACTORY TRANSDUCERS TO THE DETECTION OF HUMAN BEINGS.

Abstract

This material summarizes work performed for the period 1 August 1965 to 31 January, 1966. Efforts were concentrated on refinement of odorant mixing, dilution and delivery equipment for studies of the relation of olfactory receptor potential wave form to odorant quality and quantity in Lucilia sericata; histological and histochemical studies of the olfactory receptors in this species; and experiments designed to elucidate the nature and role of an odorant-activated adenosinetri phosphatase which has been demonstrated in the olfactory receptor cells of the frog, Rana catesbeiana.
