RESEARCH ON A CLASS OF NON-LINEAR OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS.
Abstract
A research project with attention centered on the structure of and methods of solution for generalized transportation problems is described. The major direct findings of the program will be reported on in some ten technical papers within the next few years. A summary of the work to be contained in these papers and of the other outputs of the project is given in this report. Results not important enough in themselves to be published independently, e.g., counterexamples, unsuccessful lines of approach, untested methods of solution, etc., but of interest to anyone who might pursue research on the problems considered by this project, are summarized in greater detail in selected abstracts of working papers.
