WATER LEVEL CHANGES PRODUCED ON THE PACIFIC COASTS OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA BY THE ALASKAN TSUNAMI OF 1964.

Abstract

Geophysical data on water levels which occurred at various West Coast U.S. and Canadian locations after the March 28, 1964 Alaskan earthquake, are presented. A brief survey of existing knowledge on long wave theories shows no explanation for the unusual runup which occurred at Crescent City, California, and Alberni, British Columbia. (Author)
