CHEMISTRY OF ALLENIC COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

Investigation of the fundamental chemistry of allenic compounds is described, with emphasis on the acetylene-allene rearrangement. Topics covered include: Displacement reactions and prototropic rearrangements in four-carbon propargyl and allenyl systems; Coupling of 4-chloro -4-methyl -2-pentyne and similar propargyl chlorides with organometallic compounds; Allenyl Grignard reagents; and Dimerization of allenes.
