RESISTORS FOR MICROPOWER CIRCUITS.

Abstract

Micropower resistors ranging in resistance value from less than 1 megohm to over 100 megohms have been prepared. The effects of a limited number of process variables, including the use of additive at various compositional levels and firing temperatures, raw materials from different sources, different firing kilns, and the reproducibility of resistance and temperature coefficient of resistance values have been investigated. Basic equipment for helixing was completed and placed in operation. The process of helixing to high resistance values has been examined in some detail, and the effects of obtaining a given resistance value by high film resistance and low magnification factor compared with the employment of relatively low film resistance and high magnification factor. Parts for a more complex helixing unit were received and construction begun. A hydraulic press for substrate fabrication has been essentially completed and operation scheduled for an early date.
