MARINE AMPHIBIOUS DEPLOYMENT SIMULATION: PROGRAMMER'S MANUAL,

Abstract

This manual was developed to provide guidance for the proficient programmer who wishes to modify or adapt either the Marine Amphibious Deployment Simulation (MARADS) system or the MARADS-related Embarkation Lift Summary System (ELSS). Readers of this manual should have a copy of the companion volume, Marine Amphibious Deployment Simulation: User's Manual. This Programmer's Manual describes the general method of handling data in the MARADS system and describes the purpose, input, output, common tables, common variables, and subroutines for each of the system's four major programs. Program and subroutine flowcharts are included to provide graphic explanations of various stages of the data processing logic. Instructions are included for input preparation, tape assignment, and running the programs on the CDC 1604A or IBM 7090/94 computer. The manual also contains a description of the Embarkation Lift Summary System (ELSS) which was developed to prepare detailed summary information applicable to embarkation planning. The Programmer's Manual is one of the two volumes documenting the MARADS system. The other volume, Marine Amphibious Deployment Simulation User's Manual, is sufficient for the analyst or planner who wishes to use the MARADS system as written. (Author)
