FOOD RATION AND FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The food service job is big and complex and provides an unremitting management challenge because an error in judgment or mismanagement can produce immediate and serious consequences. The complexity and size also provide opportunity for many different systems and approaches. That significantly different systems and approaches to the common function of troop feeding exist among the four Services is a finding of this study. Another finding is that the enlisted men and women of all components of the Armed Forces of the U. S. are being well fed regardless of which system or approach is used.
