FLAMMABILITY OF SPACECRAFT WIRE IN AN OXYGEN ATMOSPHERE,

Abstract

Oxygen rich atmospheres are used in manned spacecraft enclosures to provide a balance between physical requirements and human respiratory needs. Small cable and hook-up wires are used in large quantity in spacecraft. The performance of such wires in oxygen rich atmospheres is of major importance. Results of flamability studies in 5 psia pure oxygen atmosphere made by the General Electric Research and Development Center under contract NAS 9-4549 are reported. (Author, modified-PL).
