DEMONSTRATION OF VISUAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (AERIAL TELEVISION).

Abstract

Commercial off-the-shelf television equipment was evaluated in the combat environment of the Republic of Vietnam (RVN) to determine its capability to provide visual information system support of combat operations. Even though the type of equipment demonstrated has potential for combat and combat support employment, it requires additional research and development as it provided no significant improvement in present visual information acquisition systems. The low light level television system demonstrated did not improve upon the present night surveillance capability in the RVN. (Author)
