PNEUMONICS - NEW FIELD OF AUTOMATION.

Abstract

This paper reports on the present status of flow technique in our country and abroad, especially, in the USSR and the U. S. Several flow elements, working under the principle of reciprocal control of fluid flow, mostly air, are described. Elements with continuous signal (flow amplifiers) are presented, as well as logic elements, primarily used for numerical calculation. Advantages and disadvantages of electronic and pneumonic equipment are compared. Some examples of the use of flow elements in automation and in other technical fields are given. Prospects for further development of flow technique are stressed in the conclusion.
