ARRAY RESEARCH. DISCUSSION OF LASA PROCESSING REQUIREMENTS.

Abstract

This report presents a possible processing system for a LASA installation. It is assumed that each LASA installation is a part of a network of stations with the objective of world wide monitoring of nuclear explosions and earthquakes. First, the general system concept and processing functions are presented. Second, the nature of seismic noise, seismic signal and signal-to-noise ratio as each relates to seismic processing requirements are discussed. Next, details of the processing functions are examined and, finally, a summary of the system is presented.
