FLOW IN A PRECESSING SPHERICAL ENCLOSURE. I. HIGH VISCOSITY.

Abstract

The motion of a highly viscous fluid within a precessing spherical enclosure is solved by means of a linearization procedure. The linearization requires either that the precessional speed is small compared with the rotational speed or that the angle between the precession vector and the rotation vector is small. The case of low viscosity will be treated in a subsequent paper. (Author)
