BROADBAND X-BAND KLYSTRON.

Abstract

The objective of this program is to design, fabricate and deliver three klystron amplifiers operating over an instantaneous bandwidth of 4 percent at 8 Gc at the 100 kw, CW power level. The report describes progress on the electrical and mechanical design of the pulsed test vehicles which are to be used to evaluate the rf design for the final tubes. Data from cold tests on extended-interaction bunchers and output resonators is presented along with progress on thermal and mechanical designs. (Author)
