MECHANICAL AND THERMAL PROPERTIES OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE TITANIUM ALLOYS.

Abstract

The chemical composition and room-temperature tensile data are summarized for the three sheet and two bar experimental materials, all ofwhich have now been received. The status of the preparation of the specimens and of the different evaluations in the program are reviewed. Tensile data for both heats of the Ti-5Al-5Sn-5Zr-1Mo-1V alloy sheet and for single heats of the Ti-679 and Ti-5Al-5Sn-5Zr alloy bar are summarized. Data are reviewed from preliminary tests that were performed to determine the minimum temperature for stress-corrosion of the sheet alloys.
