SECONDARY FLOWS IN AN AXIAL COMPRESSOR,

Abstract

The mean flow was depicted by means of smoke visualization. Secondary flows effects were investigated near the walls and through the blades passages by the same technique. Theoretical and experimental analysis of vorticity distribution is presented. Rotating stall phenomena were depicted by means of smoke observations and dynamic pressure measurements.
