SIMIAT - 3. OPERATOR'S MANUAL,
Abstract
The primary objective of this manual is to enable a person possessing minimum knowledge of program input procedures to use the simulated missile attack computer model, SIMIAT-3. A detailed description of the principles upon which SIMIAT functions is provided. The manual discusses the probabilistic aspects of the game, the engagement process, the input parameters, and the size, scope, and limitations of these parameters. Additionally, a guide for entering information into the program is provided. There is also a section pertaining to the interpretation of the output symbols, consisting of a listing of the various output symbols, their definitions, and the associated interpretation of each symbol. An example of a somewhat typical application of SIMIAT-3 is also presented with an accompanying analysis of the resulting output. In summary, this manual instructs one in the use of SIMIAT by communicating an adequateunderstanding of the basic assumptions involved in the program, definitions of input symbols and directions in using these symbols, and detailed interpretations of the output symbols.
