LIQUID ROCKET SYSTEM CONJUGATE STRUCTURE AND TANKAGE PROGRAM.

Abstract

The Process Development task has been completed and verified with the fabrication of Packs 5 and 6. These packs are 4 x 7-1/2 ft and are identical to the production packs required for the fabrication of the tankage structure. The first 10 production packs are in various phases of fabrication and are scheduled to be rolled during May on a 160-in. 4-high mill. Procedures for forming and weld joining the sandwich panels are being evaluated. Quality Control procedures and Quality Assurance Techniques for the fabrication of the sandwich panels and the tankage structure are nearing completion. The Tooling and Fabrication Plan for Phase 2 and the Structural Test Plan are nearing completion. After completion and AFRPL approval of these plans, Phase 1 of the program will be completed and Phase 2 Tankage Fabrication will be initiated.
