PULSE WAVE VELOCITY FLIGHT MONITORING SYSTEM. VOLUME I. SUMMARY AND HISTORY OF PROGRAM.

Abstract

This report summarizes in detail the study, design and development which lead to the fabrication of prototype and final design physiological instrumentation for measurement of Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV). Environmental performance specitications and mechanical design allows the equipment to be used in either a laboratory or airborne flight test application. The measurement of average PWV is obtained from the information provided by the relative time relation between Electrocardiogram. pulse, phonocardio pulse and peripheral pulse measured at the finger. Peripheral pulse detection is accomplished with infrared optical sensing. (Author)
