RESEARCH TO INVESTIGATE THE MICROSTRUCTURE OF THE INTERNAL MAGNETIC FIELD IN SELECTED MAGNETIC MATERIALS.

Abstract

The report covers work done in three areas: (1) magnetic properties of rare-earth metals and alloys, including purification methods; (2) new materials of interest as permanent-magnet materials; (3) neutron diffraction studies of rare-earth compounds. Where appropriate, a brief summary of work done in the period August 10 to December 1, 1965 (during which time the program was not supported by the Air Force) has been included.
