PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF REFRACTORY MATERIALS

Abstract

This report presents much of the available JTA graphite data and attempts to analyze this information with regard to its uniformity and application to possible design use. The report attempts to acquaint the reader with information concerning the characterization of JTA, its oxidation resistance, and the following temperature dependent mechanical and physical properties: tensile strength, flexure strength, compression strength, elastic properties, thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, enthalpy, specific heat, and relationship between sonic modulus, density and strength of JTA.
