STUDIES OF PHOTOEMITTERS.

Abstract

The system for LEED study of Cs deposited on single crystal Ag is described; processing and preliminary testing procedures are discussed. The experimental system established for fabricating metal-semiconductor-metal diodes by the deposition of a thin metal overlayer on S-1 surfaces is described. Provision for measurement of characteristic S-1 response, high-field I-V characteristics, and internal photoemission characteristics are described. Procedures used for the growth and handling of alkali antimonide crystals are presented. An experimental system for structural and photoemission studies on cleaved Na3Sb is described. A description is given of an experimental system for the investigation of the formation of various Alkali antimonides by thermal evaporation of the compounds. (Author)
