STUDIES ON INHALATION ANTHRAX: 3. MORPHOLOGIC STUDIES

Abstract

A morphologic study was made of tissues from 23 cynomolgus monkeys that contracted inhalation anthrax following prolonged exposure to dust from goat hair known to be contaminated with anthrax spores. Twenty monkeys died of anthrax, in one monkey anthrax was considered a contributing cause of death, and in two monkeys sacrificed at the end of the experiment early anthrax infection was found incidentally.
