AN UNATTENDED METEOR TRAIL HIGH ALTITUDE WIND AND DENSITY MEASURING SET.

Abstract

A coherent radar system was developed which successfully detected the presence of ionized meteor trails in the atmosphere at altitudes of 80 to 104 kilometers at each of the two design frequencies. Doppler shift, elevation angle, slant ragne, and decay data were successfully determined and recorded on film.
