PRODUCTION OF HIGH ENERGY ELECTRICAL IMPULSES WITH AN MHD GENERATOR.

Abstract

The period covered by this report was devoted to the assembly and testing of the burner and final assembly of the channel, as well as its installation. The work performed prior to and during burner testing is described. A brief synopsis is presented of the pre-test checkout procedures, testing and results thereof. Comparison of the measured and predicted heat fluxes for the various burner components are presented along with chamber pressure comparisons for various mass flows. The final assembly of the channel is described along with the major problems encountered, and the final installation in the magnet.
