REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF RESIDUAL STRESS MEASUREMENTS TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF PREPARING A HANDBOOK.

Abstract

This report briefly reviews and evaluates the current state-of-the-art as to methods of measuring residual stresses. Studies were made to appraise the feasibility of preparing a handbook or manual which will provide meaningful and useful information on residual stresses for engineers who are not necessarily specialists in this field. Suggestions are proposed for the preparations of such a handbook.
