INVESTIGATION OF THE ELECTRODE MIGRATION AND REACTION PROCESS OCCURRING IN ALKALINE-ZINC BATTERIES.

Abstract

Silver-zinc cells containing additives in the electrolyte have been cycled. The additives used were: poly (methyl vinyl ether) maleic anhydride, cellulose gum, and maleic anhydride. Polyethylene and cellulosic separators were used. Cells with cellulosic separators gave longer cycle life. Additives in the electrolyte did not affect the cycle life significantly. (Author)
