THE EFFECT OF METAL PROPERTIES ON HYPERVELOCITY PENETRATION.

Abstract

The deformation behavior of annealed OFHC copper as a function of strain rate (velocity of test) and temperature was examined. Load-elongation curves for this material were measured for four testing velocities 0(0.0001 to 1 inch/second) at room temperature (20 C). The results of these tests and related terminal measurements on the specimens are presented in this report.
