INTEGRATED ABSORPTION INTENSITIES OF INFRARED BANDS. PART I. INSTRUMENTATION.

Abstract

Various methods and techniques concerned with the measurement of absorption band intensities have been studied with increasing interest in recent years. This report discusses the application of infrared, data processor, and computer techniques as a total system to the study of integrated absorption intensities. The integrated intensities of two bands in cyclohexane were evaluated under various instrumental and experimental conditionsThe re/ults show that the spectral slit width should be reduced to about 0.125 delta mu 1/2 in order to obtain a good approximation of the absolute band intensity.
