STUDIES CONCERNED WITH THE BIOLOGIC EFFECTS OF MICROWAVE IRRADIATIONS OF VARIOUS DIFFERENT FREQUENCIES.
Abstract
An attempt was made to explain the phenomena that, by using electrodes on the heads of dogs, 700 cps sine waves could induce deep anesthesia. The concept that continuous wave (C.W.) microwaves have a different effect that pulsed-wave radar is presented; and that with any wave-forms, the wave shape, wave duration, repetition rate (PPS) and duty cycle are factors to be taken into account for an understanding of the results on the organism. It is further proposed that the body of man or other animal acts as an analog of an electrical net work load to receive electrical or electromagnetic waves of any wave-form. Heating, therefore, would be a result of network load transfer to the tissues of the whole body or a part. This is considerably different from the con cept of a simple heating effect of electrical or electromagnetic waves.
