INTRODUCTION TO THE THEME: A SUMMARY OF CURRENT PROBLEMS IN ARCTIC ACOUSTICS RESEARCH

Abstract

A symposium on Acoustics Research in the Arctic was held. This paper presents a broad view of current problems in the Arctic. Problems fall into five areas, each of which are discussed: lack of stated requirements in the Arctic; interference between projects; power sources; services; and funding.
