GAS-METAL REACTION KINETICS BY PULSED BEAM MASS SPECTROMETRY.

Abstract

Progress in the development and application of a modulated molecular beam-mass spectrometric apparatus for the study of kinetics of reactions between gases and refractory structural materials is summarized. A significant improvement in the detection equipment leading to better pulse shape analysis is described. Specific jesults from its application to the tungsten-oxygen system are illustrated.
