TRACK CHARTS, BATHYMETRY, AND LOCATION OF OBSERVATIONS CHAIN CRUISE NO. 46 NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN AND CARIBBEAN SEA WITH STUDIES MADE AROUND THE ISLAND OF HISPANIOLA.

Abstract

This report contains charts of Cruise 46 of R/V CHAIN in the North Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. There are 54 charts plotted on a mercator projection (scale 1 deg Longitude equals 4 inches) showing the track of the entire cruise. All types of observations made during the cruise are noted by suitable symbols or legends and are shown on Index Chart I. There are 14 pages showing continuous daily observations, including types of information gathered at each of the 16 stations. Soundings are read at equal time intervals, usually every five minutes, and at each break in slope. They are written along the ship's track as often as space permits. (Author)
