PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF SELECTED LIGHT-ELEMENT AND SOME RELATED COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

This is the fifteenth semiannual report on the thermodynamic properties of selected light-element and some related compounds of primary interest in high-temperature research and application. The bulk of the report describes in detail new apparatus design and testing, data, and data analysis and interpretation originating in this program. Most of the results reported are thermodynamic properties of various oxides of aluminum and beryllium in the solid, liquid, and gaseous states as determined by a variety of techniques. Included also are an improved method for accurate fluorine-compound flame calorimetry, and new molecular-structure information on the boron trihalides.
