A NONGRAPHICAL APPROACH FOR ESTIMATING PHOTO-INTERPRETER PERFORMANCE,

Abstract

An approach is presented to the problem of obtaining quantitative estimates of the contributions of photographic imagery to the final informational output of an intelligence system. The methodology is based upon loosely structured interviews in which experienced photo interpreters estimate their own performance capabilities. Subjects interviewed are not required to lo6k at any actual imagery. This approach was devised in order to generate a part of the data base requied for the Project HOIST multisensor reconnaissance model. (Author)
