HIGH TEMPERATURE POLYMERS FROM 1,3-DIPOLAR ADDITION REACTIONS.
Abstract
The synthesis of the model compound 2,4,6,8-tetrahydro 4,8-dioxo-2,6- diphenylpyrazolo (3,4-f)indazole with nitrobenzene as the reaction solvent has been carried out. The bis-dipolarophile 1,4-bis(phenylethynyl) benzene has been synthesized. The nitrilimine precursor 4,4'-oxydibenzoyl phenylhydrazide chloride has been prepared. The reaction of this compound with ethynyl benzene in the presence of triethylamine yields 1,1',5,5'- tetraphenyl-3,3'- (oxydi-p-phenylene) dipyrazole. The model compound 1,1',5,5'-tetraphenyl-3,3'-p-phenylene-1,2,4 -ditriazole has been obtained by the raction of benzoylphenylhydrazied chloride with terepthalonitrile. 2,5-Diphenyltetrazole and 5,5'-diphenyl-2,2'-p-phenylene- ditetrazole have been prepared to provide a new type of nitrilimine precursor. 2,5-Diphenyltetrazole has been treated with ethynyl benzene, benzonitrile and p-diethynyl benzene to afford the corresponding heterocycles. The polymerization reaction of 4,4' oxydi benzoylphenyl- hydrazide chloride with p-diethynyl benzene afforded poly (1,1',5,5'-tetraphenyl-3,3'- (oxydi-p-phenylene) -dipyrazole). (Author)
