A CONCEPT FOR AN AIRMOBILE PARTS SUPPLY SYSTEM.

Abstract

Research effort is presented to develop an extension of the Air Logistics Supply Concept that will be more responsive to requirements of the widely dispersed and rapidly moving organizations of an air mobile division. The concepts, techniques, and equipment presented are predicated on application in such areas as South Vietnam, where ground transportation is not practical owing to a combination of tactical and environmental conditions. This rationale is not intended to narrow or limit the application of the Air mobile Parts Supply (AMPS) Concept. However, airmobile operations, the main topic of this memorandum, are in their infancy, especially from a logistic support standpoint, South Vietnam represents the initial combat testing ground for airmobile operations.
