PHASE SHIFT VARACTOR-DETECTOR DIODES.

Abstract

The extension of the state of the art of phase-shift and standing-wave amplification is approached by the development of specialized components to exhibit characteristics for this application. Diodes whose c-v characteristics follow a unity-exponent law have been developed. A diode figure of merit for maximum gain-bandwidth product is proposed. An analysis is presented from which a diode figure of merit for noise figure will be developed during the next interval. (Author)
