AN INVESTIGATION OF THE HIGH-RESOLUTION PROTON RESONANCE SPECTRA OF MONOSUBSTITUTED BENZENES TO DETERMINE THE CHEMICAL SHIFTS AND COUPLING CONSTANTS.

Abstract

A total analysis of the NMR spectra of the AA'BB'C spin system of several mono-substituted benzenes has been accomplished. The method of analysis was direct and did not depend on isotopic substitution or trial-and-error calculation. The results of the analysis are discussed briefly with regard to type of substituent.
