CHANNEL AND TRAFFIC STATUS COLLECTION AND DISPLAY. VOLUME I. SYSTEMS STUDY AND DESIGN PHASE.

Abstract

Presented are the design requirements and recommendations for implementing a collection, transmission, and display of channel and traffic status information for the world wide Air Communications Network (AIRCOM). Basically, the proposed design allows for automatic collectinn of all changes in status data at the relay stations on a fine grain basis and for subsequent transmission of the data through other relay stations (where necessary) to a Channel and Traffic Control Agency (CTCA) and several Channel and Traffic Control Units (CTCU) for display and monitoring. Because the proposed system allows almost immediate display of the information at the CTCA and the CTCUs, the CTCUs will be better able to make recommendations for maintaining user service in the AIRCOM while the CTCA may statistically analyze the data for future traffic and expansion considerations.
