IODINE 131-LABELLING OF PURIFIED MICROBIAL ANTIGENS BY MICRODIFFUSION,

Abstract

Radioiodination of purified microbial antigens (protective antigen of Bacillus anthracis and enterotoxin B of Staphylococcus aureus) by the direct nitrous acid procedure or by other conventional methods failed to yield satisfactory antigenic material for serology. A modified microdiffusion method that eliminated the exposure of the antigen to excess oxidizing agent produced precipitating activity. (Author)
