PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR A HIGH-FREQUENCY TWO-AXIS ANGULAR VIBRATOR.

Abstract

The need for a two-axis angular vibrator for the testing of gyroscopic instruments whose frequency range extends beyond the 100-cps capability of present machines is demonstrated. An outline of the ideal requirements for the vibrator to attain an accuracy within 5% in determining gyroscope parameters is presented. A feasibility study is made of the performance that can be expected from a physically realizable system, and a set of requirements for a vibrator is given reflecting these limitations.
