REVIEW OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS. METALWORKING,

Abstract

The development of a manufacturing process for high-strength seamless titanium-alloy tubing for aerospace structures has been undertaken. In Phase 1 of the study, potential users of titanium-alloy tubing were surveyed. The survey results indicate five areas of potential application, along with preferred tubing characteristics: hydraulic-system lines; cryogenic fluid transport; fuel-system plumbing; environmental control ducting; and tubular structural members.
