INVESTIGATION OF MILLIMETER WAVE GENERATION AND NONLINEAR PROPAGATION IN FERRIMAGNETICS.
Abstract
A Type II ferrite generator (Model II-A) has been constructed using mainly RF and pulse components described in the preceding report. This generator has been operated, delivering a stable RF output pulse of 1 watt peak power with a pulse width of approximately 5 nanoseconds in the range of 8 to 8.5 gc. Other preliminary measured characteristics are described. Plans for appreciably increasing the RF energy and peak power are discussed. An improved pulser has been designed, and has been incorporated in the design of a new generator (Model II-B), which is under construction. Experimental apparatus relating to variable delay lines using magnetoacoustic waves is being set up. (Author)
