OBSERVATION OF CYCLOTRON ECHOES FROM A HIGHLY IONIZED PLASMA.

Abstract

The observation of cyclotron echo phenomena from an almost fully ionized cesium plasma in the UCLA Q device is reported. Characteristics of two-pulse and three-pulse cyclotron echoes in this plasma media and the implication of these measurements for a velocity dependent collision frequency mechanism of cyclotron echo formation are discussed.
