COMPILATION OF STRING GRAMMAR OF MODERN RUSSIAN.

Abstract

The report describes preliminary results of one year R and D effort in writing a string grammar of Modern Russian for application to Russian-English machine translation of scientific and technical texts. The report is presented in two parts. Part I contains a partial description of the declarative center string for the most common word order. Part II describes implementation of the linguistic content of the first part. The program of Part II has not been verified or tested on the computer. (Author)
