THE TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS OF TABLE VII OF THE TANK GUNNERY QUALIFICATION COURSE.
Abstract
The purpose of the tank gunnery qualification course is to provide a means for determining the proficiency of the tank crewman in gunnery. The course is designed both to test the gunner and to serve as an adjunct to training in the proper care and use of the weapons and their accessories. All parts of the course are fired first for training purposes (practice), and then for record (test). The tank gunnery qualification course includes (1) the gunner's preliminary examination,(2) the limited course, and (3) the standard course. The gunner's preliminary examination, given to a potential gunner before he fires the qualification course, includes materiel and simulated firing. A minimum score of 80 per cent is required before the crewmen fires the tables of either the limited or the standard course.
